On an historical site near Oslo with over 100 burial mounds and a recreated Iron-Age long house, this new building and exhibition explores local life and death rituals from the Iron Age to modern times.
Introducing the site and finds to visitors, the exhibition compares the three imaginary lives of Helena as she moves through lives rituals, from birth to death, in the iron age, the 1850’s and modern times. Her story is told in media, the artifacts contrast finds found in burial mounds on site (on lone from the Oslo Museum), historic artifacts from the area and modern items.
John King provided design and art direction for Hybris AS, from master planning, through concept, to build.
Hringariki opened to the public mid-2009.
